Flapper Valve Auto-fill Float Collar
The model FV/AF float collar allow maximum filling of the casing while it is being run in the hole,
with the fluid entering the casing free to seek its own level. The filling action reduces casing running
time and lowers surge pressures on formations to a minimum.Provided the conversion ball has not
been drop- ped,casing can be circulated at any time without affecting the fill-up operation.
Features
●This auto-fill valve is available in 4 1/2”-7 5/8”-in casing and liner sizes.
●Surge reduction for smaller casing sizes is provided with this valve.
●After conversion the trip ball is free to activate other ball activated equipment below.
●Casing thread is API 8-RD LONG presently.
●High-angle guide version is recommended for wellbore inclinations greater than 25%.
●Lower surge pressures on formations to a minimum, reduce casing running time.
●The special orifice fits into the seat of the flapper shoe to hold the flapper open.
It is retained by a special shear device to pro- vide a positive seal and shear control.
●Either PDC or rock bit drillable.
●A suitable guide shoe should be fixed to prevent the orifice and the tripball stopping
up flow area when the float collar is used.
